Mathematical analysis of quantum information storage and processing

We devise protocols for various quantum communication tasks and determine the optimal achievable performance in them. We work on the problems of quantum information compression, reliable comunication over noisy quantum channels, zero-error communication, quantum state discrimination, and entanglement manipulation. We study these problems in concrete physical models as well as in the most general information theoretical framework; the results of the latter give reference points for benchmarking the performance of practical implementations.
