
The Quantum Innovation Summit 2025 was held for the second time in Dubai from 25-27 February 2025. The event is a global platform that fosters collaboration between industry leaders, researchers, policymakers and innovators to explore the role of quantum technology in transforming cybersecurity, healthcare, finance, energy and more. At the three-day event, László Bacsárdi, associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of BME, represented the Budapest University of Technology and Economics
In his presentation "The importance of quantum-based satellite communication and Hungary's contribution to it", László Bacsárdi talked about the current status of the quantum-based satellite communication and summarized the related Hungarian activities. In this context, he presented the Quantum Information National Laboratory of Hungary, detailed the related quantum communication activities, the university's free-space quantum key distribution (QKD) developments and research on satellite quantum internet.
