Results of the "Realization of a quantum communication Network" workpackage has been presented at the Deutscher Luft- und Raumfahrtkongress 2024 organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DGLR) between September 30 and October 2 in Hamburg.
The 73. Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtkongresses is the largest technical aerospace and space conference in Germany, with 13 parallel technical sessions, interesting keynote presentations and an exhibition.
In the talk titled ‘Technical challenges of free-space quantum key distribution developments’, Laszlo Bacsardi, associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, introduced their latest results in free-space quantum communication including the synchronization challenges of the own developed free-space quantum key distribution system as well as the properties of the entangled photon pair source developed at BME Faculty of Natural Sciences. The paper was co-authored by Márton Czermann and Máté Galambos from BME Mobile Communications and Quantum Technologies Laboratory.
