From the spring of 2023, computer science students interested in quantum computing can acquire up-to-date knowledge in a quantum informatics specialization at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. For the first time in our country, the BME Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics launched an IT specialization that aims to transfer knowledge related to quantum computing and quantum communication within regular educational framework. The program has incorporated more than 20 years of educational and quantum technology development experience at the university. The minor specialization is part of the computer engineering master program. Students gain insight into the basics of quantum informatics and quantum communication, analyzes various quantum algorithms, develop program on a quantum computer, design quantum networks, and gain practical knowledge of the operation of various quantum computing and quantum communication systems during laboratory exercises.
