Several of the students of the BME Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics participating in either the computer engineering or electrical engineering bachelor program prepared their theses on the topic of quantum communication. Testing the optical link of an entanglement-based free-space quantum key distribution system under laboratory conditions, examining the design issues necessary for the future backbone network implementation of the quantum internet in Hungary using a quantum internet simulator, as well as examining the link budget of satellite-based quantum communication connections were among the topics of the fall semester theses. The students successfully defended their theses on the topic of quantum communication between January 10-13 at the final exams organized by the BME Department of Networks and Services.
